Miranda Levy Launched a Kickstarter Project

Miranda Levy launched a Kickstarter project yesterday to fund and create her new 15 piece collection. Her Kickstarter project, which is titled “Miranda Levy of Project Runway 2014 Collection”, is running from September 21 to October 31, 2013.  Per Kickstarter…”The goal of this project is to fund and create 15 original designs and present them in a runway show in Milwaukee, WI in February of 2014. The Kickstarter funds will pay for fabric, materials, hardware and tools as well as promotional costs for the event. If I raise funds beyond the goal, those funds will be used to develop production and distribution of the most popular of my new designs.”  Watch this very short clip where she introduces her Kickstarter project.

If you are Project Runway obsessed, you know that Miranda is one of the designers of Project Runway season 12 and that she went home in episode 7.  I am not Project Runway obsessed but I do watch it here and there.  And I definitely know who Miranda Levy is.  I know that her favorite colors are red, yellow, tangerine, Kelly green and black.  I also know that she is in an incredibly talented designer.  I know that she also sells her dress of the month in Etsy. I also know that she and her red plaid pants should have not been sent home in episode 7. I also knew that I had to find out more about her Kickstarter project when I found out about it from Blogging Project Runway.

I read through her Kickstarter project page and I could not believe my eyes when I saw that the prize for the $25 pledge was her handmade deco inspired clutch. This is what the description of the prize for the $25 pledge said “I will also be offering my handmade art deco inspired clutch purses as a pledge prize. I will be carrying one with me at NYFW and during the finale episode of Project Runway. Hopefully lots of paparazzi will get photos of them while I’m there. There are only 12 available and I will not be making more when they’re gone.”  To my dismay, the $25 pledge said “1 left of 12”. Since I was a Kickstarter backer of another project (see the Put Red Duck Ketchup on Everything post), I was able to quickly sign in and grab the last of the 12 clutches. Glory!  I really would love to get the red one.  Do you want to see the clutch?  The photo below is from her Kickstarter project page.  You can also see a photo of Mirandy Levy and her clutch at NYFW at tomseyecatview.com.

I would have liked to be able to afford the $1,500 or more pledge. It would be amazing to contribute to her project and to also be able to meet her, to enjoy her runway show with VIP seats and backstage access and to also meet the talented designers of different seasons of Project Runway. WOW!

In order for her Kickstarter project to be funded, the goal of $5,000 needs to be pledged by the project’s deadline of October 31.  I hope more people discover her Kickstarter project and contribute through a pledge.  She is so talented.  Good luck Miranda!
