I know, the only red in this photo is in Nina’s collar but I want to show you all this photo before I post it in the My Beagles section of the blog.  I think it deserves its own post.

I snapped this photo with my cell phone when we were on our way back from the vet a few weeks ago.  When I say “we”, I am including my beagles Rocky Bamba and Nina Brava.  Yes, those are their names, but we usually just call them Rocky and Nina.  Nina and cars are not a good mix. Since she was a puppy, I noticed her lack of enthusiasm inside cars.  She usually just props her head against the seat and just stays in the same position the whole ride.  It just breaks my heart and apparently Rocky’s heart too.  When he saw that Nina was not feeling well, he just got really close to her, in a protective gesture, and they both stayed there the whole 30 minute ride from the vet.

Note: Neither of my dogs is overweight, in case you are worrying.  I guess Rocky’s body seems a little distorted due to the way he was sitting and the angle from which I took the photo.
